This substance possesses emulsifying, dispersing, antistatic, and corrosion-inhibiting properties.
It's physicochemical characteristics change with the number of ethylene oxide (EO) additions: low EO products are slightly turbid to clear liquids, stable in alkaline environments, and have poor compatibility with anionic surfactants; high EO products exhibit enhanced hydrophilicity. As an important industrial additive, it is widely used in 12 sub-sectors, including textile auxiliaries, metalworking fluids, pesticide formulations, and cosmetic raw materials, and has specific functions in cleaning agent formulations and environmental treatment processes.
Industrial Auxiliaries:
In the textile industry, it is used as an antistatic agent to reduce fiber friction voltage to a safe range. In metalworking, it is used in cutting fluid formulations, providing both lubrication and corrosion inhibition, extending tool life. Adding TA-15 to pesticide formulations improves emulsion dispersibility and leaf adhesion.
Chemical Raw Materials:
In cosmetics production, TA-15 with an EO number of 20 or higher is used as an emulsifier in creams and lotions. TA-20 with an HLB value of 15.38 achieves stable emulsification of the water-oil phase. In shampoo formulations, its antistatic properties reduce hair tangling.
Environmental Treatment:
Wastewater treatment agents containing TA-8 have a chelating effect on heavy metal ions. In the leather industry, it is used as a major component of degreasing agents, with a consumption of approximately 1.2-1.5 kg per ton of raw hide.
