Properties

• Appearance: White crystalline powder with a slight special odor, hygroscopic
• Melting Point: >300°C
• Solubility: Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol
• Stability: Easily oxidized in air, discolors when exposed to air or iron, turns yellow or black when deteriorated
• Acidity: Slightly acidic aqueous solution, pH value of 6.7 (100 g/L, H₂O, 20°C)

1. Cosmetics and Skincare:
   • As a main ingredient in permanent wave solutions for hair shaping and curling
