Dioctyl sebacate DOS

Colorless to pale yellow liquid. Relative density: 0.910(25℃), melting point: -55℃, boiling point: 248℃(4×133.322Pa), refractive index: 1.447(20℃).

It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and benzene. It can be mixed and used with ethyl cellulose, polystyrene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride-acetate copolymer, etc. Good cold resistance.

Application: 
It can be used as a low-temperature plasticizer and also in synthetic lubricating oil for jet engines. It is applicable to polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymers, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose and synthetic rubber, etc. It has a high plasticizing efficiency and low volatility. It not only has excellent cold resistance, but also good heat resistance, light resistance and electrical insulation. Moreover, it has good lubricity when heated, making the appearance and hand feel of the products good. It is particularly suitable for making cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, films, plates, sheets, etc.
