Trichloroethylene (commonly abbreviated TCE; IUPAC: 1,1,2-trichloroethene) — CAS 79-01-6 — is a clear, non-flammable chlorinated solvent with excellent solvency for oils, greases, waxes and many resins. It is used as an industrial degreasing agent, precision cleaner and chemical intermediate for fluorinated compounds, dye and pharmaceutical synthesis.
